The One Who Takes Care of Everyone

”The person who alone controls each species of life, the cause and effect of this world, the overseer of the tawny colored Lord Brahma’s birth, and who rewarded him with all knowledge and which takes care of everyone is the Supreme Lord.”

PURPORT BY SRI KRSNA BALARAM SWAMIJI

There are many categories of species in this creation such as demigods of heaven, human beings, animals, birds, aquatics, reptiles, moths and insects and within these there are individual varieties, they are all cared for by the same single Lord. There are five material elements-earth, water, fire, air and ether-which constitute the material body of every creature and are controlled by the Supreme Lord. From Him Lord Brahma was born and He taught him all knowledge. As it is stated in the Gopalatapini Sruti, yo brahmanam vidadhati purvam yo vai vedams ca gapayati sma krsnah, “Originally one who taught all categories of knowledge to Lord Brahma and from whom all the Vedas have come His name is Krsna.” The Narayana Upanisad also states, narayanat brahma jayate, “Lord Brahma is born from Lord Narayana.” One may wonder who is Narayana? To this Sariraka Bhasya states, krsnam vai narayanah, “Lord Krsna is the actual Narayana Himself.”

The word kapila mentioned in this text does not refer to Lord Kapila of the Srimad Bhagavatam as some may say but it refers to Lord Brahma due to his goldish brown physical complexion.
